Unhealthy Obsession: Lip Gloss

Lately, I have had an, unhealthy obsession. Over lip gloss. Yes, I said lip gloss. For the past two weeks, I have dragged my mother down to the mall so I could go shopping in Bath and Body Works for new flavors of lip gloss because I just can't seem to get enough of it. Some of my flavors include: cherry, peppermint, strawberry, limeade, and, well, you can just see for yourself.

Currently, I have 14 tubes of lip gloss. My friends and family call me crazy but you know what? That's okay.

Jamie Grace

When I went to the Revolve Tour in February, a very special girl preformed. Her name is Jamie Grace. God has given this girl an amazing voice, which she uses to praise Him. I got her first EP album, Hold Me, at the Revolve Tour and I love her songs. She has just come out with a new album, One Song At a Time and I really love one of the songs on there. Its called Come To Me. Here's the link
I hope you enjoy!

Never Trust Your Family

Today my family and I went to Chipotle after church. As we were finishing eating, my friend and her family walked in and soon we were talking. I had brought my iPod in to entertain myself while waiting for my parents to finish eating, but put it aside as I was talking to my friend. I was so immersed in my conversation that I didn't notice anything else going on around me. When I turned around to reach for my iPod, I realized it was gone. Immediately i became frantic. I first thought that my friend's brother had taken my iPod. Then I thought it was my brothers. Then I thought it was my friend. Then I thought it was my friend's dad. Finally, I noticed that my dad was laughing. Now, my dad bought my iPod for my birthday last year and if I had lost it, he would have been mad. But here he was laughing, so I thought it was him who had taken it.
"Hand it over." I demanded.
"I don't have it. It's in Mom's purse." He replied, still laughing.

So I turned on my mom. "Did he put it in you purse?"

"No." Mom replied, keeping a straight, solemn face. So I asked my dad (who was
still laughing) about ten billion more times if he had it. I was convinced that he had taken it. Finally I got the sense to search Mom's purse and pulled out, my iPod.
"You lied to me!" I said, turning on Mom.

"No, you asked if Dad had put your iPod in my purse." Mom replied, smiling.

Finally, it clicked in. My
dad had taken my iPod but my mom had put it in her purse.
"I'm not talking to you guys." I said, whirling around and walking back to my seat.

So, all I'm saying is, you can never trust you family, well, around iPods that is. Have a happy Sunday.

TANGLED!

Hey everyone! Sorry, its been a while since I've posted huh?
Well, I'll have you know, I've recuperated from my Camp Half-Blood expedition and have made another clay molding.

Does anybody know who this cute, adorable guy is?

Yes, its Pascal from Disney's Tangled!

Now, can anyone guess who this cute character is?

Its Pascal in clay form. I made him yesterday, and I have to say, he turned out very well. Isn't he cute? If you haven't seen Tangled yet, then I encourage you to do so.

Happy adventures Flynn and Rapunzel!

Living As a Half-Blood

So, if you haven't guessed by now, I love Greek mythology. I give thanks for Rick Riordan who created Percy Jackson, a boy who is half human and half Olympian god. To be more precise, the son of Poseidon.
Anyway, I love reading the Percy Jackson books and lately, I have been into clay making. Here is my latest creation.

Anyone dare guess what this is?

How about a closer look:

If you haven't guessed what this is, I would encourage you to look into the Percy Jackson series to find out. If you did guess what I made, you rock! It is indeed, a diorama of Camp Half-Blood. I have spent my weekends working on this and it is finally done. And, the whole thing is made out of Sculpey clay. Well, except for the board. If you ever want to try making one, you'll need A LOT of clay, an oven that will stand cooking clay for the whole day, and a glue gun that won't mind using it's awesome abilities to glue everything together.

Pretty impressive, huh? My family and I thought so. Now the question is, what to do with it. I was so keen on making the replica, I had no clue where to put it. Oh, well. I'll figure it out. I mean, I am a daughter of Athena, at least in my own mind. (Don't worry, I don't really believe that. There is only one true god and that is the God.)

I'm A Bracelet Making Machine

Like the bracelets? Guess what? I made them. Yes, that's right. On top of baking, I'm crafty. Last year my grandmother got me a bracelet making kit and about a week ago I started using it. All you need is a few colors of embroidery floss and a ton of patience. Some of the bracelets don't take very long to make but others do. So far I've made about 10 bracelets. Oh yeah, I'm good.

Taking Over Mom's Role

Lately I have been making a lot of desserts for the holidays or when ever I feel like sweets (which is most of the time). Anyway, for Valentines Day, I made sugar cookies in the shape of a heart. For Saint Patrick's Day, I'm going to make cupcakes, and this week, I made lemon bars.

What do you think. Does it look yummy? My family thought so.
Here's the recipe:

1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
2/3 cup of confectioner's sugar
3/4 cup of butter, softened
6 eggs
1 3/4 cups of white sugar
6 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
1 cup of lemon juice
Zest of 2 lemons
1/3 cup of confectioners' sugar for decoration

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

Combine the flour, 2/3 cup of confectioners' sugar, and butter. Pat dough into prepared pan. bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven, until slightly golden.

While the crust is baking, whisk together eggs, white sugar, flour, lemon juice, and zest until frothy. Pour this lemon mixture over the hot crust.

Return the pan to the preheated oven for an additional 20 to 25 minutes, or until light golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Dust the top with confectioners' sugar. Cut into squares.

This recipe is really easy to follow and makes great lemon bars.
