I'm A Bracelet Making Machine

Like the bracelets? Guess what? I made them. Yes, that's right. On top of baking, I'm crafty. Last year my grandmother got me a bracelet making kit and about a week ago I started using it. All you need is a few colors of embroidery floss and a ton of patience. Some of the bracelets don't take very long to make but others do. So far I've made about 10 bracelets. Oh yeah, I'm good.

Taking Over Mom's Role

Lately I have been making a lot of desserts for the holidays or when ever I feel like sweets (which is most of the time). Anyway, for Valentines Day, I made sugar cookies in the shape of a heart. For Saint Patrick's Day, I'm going to make cupcakes, and this week, I made lemon bars.

What do you think. Does it look yummy? My family thought so.
Here's the recipe:

1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
2/3 cup of confectioner's sugar
3/4 cup of butter, softened
6 eggs
1 3/4 cups of white sugar
6 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
1 cup of lemon juice
Zest of 2 lemons
1/3 cup of confectioners' sugar for decoration

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

Combine the flour, 2/3 cup of confectioners' sugar, and butter. Pat dough into prepared pan. bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven, until slightly golden.

While the crust is baking, whisk together eggs, white sugar, flour, lemon juice, and zest until frothy. Pour this lemon mixture over the hot crust.

Return the pan to the preheated oven for an additional 20 to 25 minutes, or until light golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Dust the top with confectioners' sugar. Cut into squares.

This recipe is really easy to follow and makes great lemon bars.
